THE BERRIEN COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM IS CURRENTLY ADVERTISING FOR THE FOLLOWING VACANCY:
BUS DRIVER- Full- time position which qualifies for benefits. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid Georgia Commercial Driver’s License Class B required, S & P endorsements on license preferred. Must submit to drug and alcohol testing and criminal background check. Willing to participate in safety training for students in a transportation setting. Demonstrate ability to work with students and knowledge of student behavior management. Attendance and punctuality is crucial. Physical demands- must be able to sit the majority of the day; stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally: must be able to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Works 180 days a year. All positions are considered FT and are eligible for benefits but actual work time averages 25 hours a week depending on route distance. All bus drivers also have the opportunity to work additional paying positions driving field trips, extracurricular and sporting activities, and after-school and summer student programs.
Base pay of 180 days at average of 25 hours a week is $12,435.27 to $14,884.73 a year not including field trips, etc.
- Substitute BUS DRIVER- This position works on an as needed basis but could possibly become a full-time poistion.
