GENERAL CURRICULUM SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS - These are full-time positions in co-teaching classrooms. Exact school(s) and grade level / content areas have yet to be determined and may be determined based on candidate qualifications and expertise. Applicants must either hold a clear renewable certificate in special education general curriculum or be eligible to hold a certificate in special education general curriculum. Candidates should have experience and / or knowledge of IEPs, and co-teaching models and be knowledgeable of learning and instructional strategies for assisting students in reaching their full potential. Anticipated start date August 1, 2024.

JOB GOAL : To teach assigned students those skills, concepts, attitudes, and abilities as directed in adopted curriculum, and to perform other duties ancillary to the teaching role to include student safety, control, welfare, and growth.
REPORTS TO : Principal
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS :
- Valid Georgia teaching certificate required in appropriate field or meets local Professional Qualifications.
- Ability to relate well to individuals, groups of students, and parents.
- Physical demands - position requires significant standing and some sitting, kneeling, and walking. Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling will not normally exceed thirty (30) pounds, and will usually be in the area of ten (10) pounds. Must be able to move about the classroom and monitor student behavior.
JOB DUTIES :
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Position works 190 days.
EVALUATION : Performance is evaluated in accordance with the personnel policy and certified evaluations.
