What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Worker position at Berrien Nursing Center?
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to clients with mental health and behavioral health concerns.
- Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans based on client needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Advocate for clients' rights and access to appropriate resources.
- Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources.
Requirements:
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Social Worker is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of care strategies for individuals with PTSD is a plus.
- Familiarity with psychopharmacology and medical terminology.
- Proficient in using ICD-9 codes for billing purposes.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health and mental health counseling principles.
- Ability to conduct motivational interviewing sessions to promote behavior change.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
