What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Kennel Technician position at Berry Animal Clinic?
We are looking for a Veterinary Kennel Technician who loves working with animals and works tirelessly for their well-being.
Berry Animal clinic is located in Piedmont, Alabama, and has been serving the community for over 40 years. We are a high-volume, mixed animal clinic providing veterinary care to a variety of animal species (including, but not limited to dogs, cats, pigs, cattle, horses, chickens, birds, reptiles, etc.) We offer services such as routine medical, surgical, and dental care to our patients. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with rooming patients, assisting in surgery, administering and dispensing medications prescribed by the veterinarian, and understands the importance of being a supportive and positive team member.
Job Duties (including, but not limited to, the following):
- aide front desk attendants with intake of and outgoing animals,
- clean and sanitize inside and outside kennels,
- read patient charts and accommodate each pet's medical and emotional needs,
- walk boarding dogs while paying absolute attention to their safety,
- proper animal handling/restraint,
- surgical prep assistance,
- assist vet techs and doctors,
- nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases,
- medication administration,
- pay attention to detail,
- multitask and prioritize,
- keep a clean and organized environment,
- wear required, appropriate work clothing,
- communicate professionally and effectively,
- always be reliable and punctual,
- be willing to learn and grow professionally,
- show compassion to all patients every day,
- always put the needs of our patients first every day.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Every weekend
- Monday to Friday
