Responsibilities
Work with shift Front Line Leaders to delegate daily assignments to Material Handler team members.
Take inventory of daily supplies needed for the production floor
Utilize the JDE system to actively check online schedule for material needs.
Must have a full understanding of the process to place picks for warehouse to fill regarding the Bill of Material needs on all machines.
Actively performs walkthroughs, up to and including daily shift change walk throughs.
Ensures daily that color changes are coordinated effectively and completed in a timely manner.
Oversees, conducts, and certifies the training and development of new Material Handlers on designated shift.
Meet with Department Training Coordinator to update training progress for material handlers in training on your shift.
Ensure that all Safety Rules, ISO, SQF, HACCP, and other applicable policies are followed.
Knows how to access, search, and print documents using CPRO.
Responsible for completion of housekeeping and Material Handler area cleanliness. Able to delegate as needed to ensure cleaning tasks are completed throughout and by the end of the shift.
Must be able to perform a turnover update meeting with outgoing and incoming Lead Material Handlers.
Ensure daily scrap is being accounted for and recorded accordingly.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Pre-shift exercise/stretching activity to be performed before you can enter production area unless written doctor’s release can be provided to Human Resources.
Qualifications
Actively promotes team-oriented atmosphere with the ability to work independently.
Strong communication skills with ability to delegate daily assignments to fellow team members.
Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite-- Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Must have a strong understanding of JDE, DSI and the overall Production Process
Good past work experience, including excellent attendance record.
Capable of sitting, standing and/or walking for an extended period of time.
Able to safely lift up to approximately 35 lbs.
Able to squat, stoop and bend to floor level safely for an extended period of time.
Must hold current license and certification to operate a Powered Industrial Truck for Berry Global.
