What are the responsibilities and job description for the Property Manager position at Berry & Wythe Property Management?

We are looking for an experienced, detail orientated, and motivated Property Manager to manage a portfolio of properties. The Property Manager will report to the Director of Property Management and perform administrative and organizational duties such as liaising with residents, collecting rent, doing basic bookkeeping, and organizing property viewings.

To be successful as a property manager you should have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. An outstanding candidate will also have a talent for business management and distinguished conflict resolution skills.

Property Manager Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and scheduling property viewings, conducting property tours and interviewing prospective tenants.
  • Addressing and resolving residents' questions, concerns, and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Processing applications and conducting credit checks.
  • Managing rent collections, and tenant notices.
  • Assist in the enforcement of lease agreements and property rules.
  • Meeting with prospective tenants to show properties, conduct interviews, receive rental applications, and explain terms of occupancy.
  • Inspecting property conditions on a regular basis.
  • Creating and distributing marketing materials to attract new tenants.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of tenant and property information.
  • Assist in the preparation of lease agreements and other legal documents.
  • Be responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Investigates and helps to resolve complaints, disturbances, and violations.
  • Complies with anti-discrimination laws with regard to housing, renting, and advertising.
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Reporting any problems or issues to the Director of Property Management.
  • Attend meetings with property owners, vendors, and other stakeholders as needed.

Property Manager Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Degree in business, management or real estate preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in property management, real estate, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  • Solid understanding of anti-discrimination housing laws.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Basic bookkeeping skills.
  • Experience in Rent Manager or similar software an advantage.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Experience level:

  • 2 years

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person
