Pay is commensurate with experience within a range of $18.75 - $22.00 per hour. Full time, non-exempt, benefits eligible. Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of the Mobile Crisis Response Team Peer Support Specialist will be to provide assistance and support to Douglas County Community members in crisis and through their recovery process. Specific duties include but not limited to:

  • The Peer Support Specialist will function as a member of the Mobile Crisis Response Team.
  • Respond to community members in crisis in their homes, workplaces, schools, or other community settings.
  • Help consumers develop a network for information and support from others who have been through similar experiences.
  • Assisting consumers with identifying and effectively responding to or avoiding identified precursors or triggers that result in functional impairments.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job;
  • Complete all required trainings to fulfill job duties in a timely manner.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as circumstances warrant.

Qualifications: The Mobile Crisis Response Team Peer Support Specialist position requires but not limited to:

  • High School diploma or GED. Prefer college education in social work or related field, but not mandatory.
  • Must be a consumer of mental health services with a minimum of one year in the active stage of recovery (i.e., did not require services more intense than medications services, individual therapy, or group therapy;
  • Reliable transportation; and a valid, unrestricted driver's license
  • Knowledge of how to manage confidentiality and boundaries in the context of a peer-to-peer relationship.
  • Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse issues including best practices in the treatment of these conditions.
  • Prior computer experience and basic computer fluency;
  • Flexibility in assigned working hours;
  • An energetic and positive approach to the rapidly evolving changes and challenges of a complex workplace.

Salary : $19 - $22
