What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packer I position at Bertolino Foods, Inc?
- Handling, weighing, labeling, and packaging of Bulk/Retail products.
- Ability to stand for long periods in a cold/refrigerated environment (38 F).
- Follow and understand verbal instructions in a fast-paced environment.
- Comply with all health, sanitation, GMP, and USDA regulations as described in the
- Employee Handbook and other policy and procedure documents. For example, ensure that all meats are handled and stored correctly; wash hands after handling meats, etc.,.
- Ensure clean, safe and organized work areas.
- Daily sanitation of production lines.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to push/pull heavy objects.
- Frequent bending and lifting at the waist/knees.
- Other duties include assembling boxes, packing meat products, weighing and loading boxes on pallets.
- You may also be appropriately trained to operate the following: Box sealer, scale, and vacuum sealer.
- Ability to operate an electric pallet jack.
- Collect wash and sanitize boxes for re-use in production.
- Daily cleaning and sanitizing of production equipment.
- Cleaning condensation from refrigeration units, cleaning windows, etc., and other basic manual tasks as required.
- Be able to perform additional tasks from time to time as determined by Bertolino Foods in its sole and absolute discretion.
