Position Overview
The Project Controller is responsible for ensuring projects meet their financial objectives, scope, quality and cost requirements. This role involves tracking and measuring project performance, comparing it with the baseline plan, and identifying and resolving any deviations or problems. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and update the project financial status to team members and stakeholders.
The Project Controller position is essential for delivering successful projects and achieving customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities including, but not limited to:
Developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, budgets, and forecasts, as well as collecting and analyzing project data
Developing and updating project reports, dashboards, and presentations
Responsible for identifying and managing project risks, issues, and changes
Support the project manager in decision making and problem solving, coordinate and collaborate with the project team and other stakeholders, and ensure compliance with project standards, policies, and procedures
Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner and support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Assist with financial audits.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies.
Provide support to the Controller and other members of the Finance team as needed.
Qualifications
Must Have:
Associate’s Degree or Bachelor's Degree in: Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field.
German language (Bilingual German - English)
In-depth knowledge of project management and finance principles, practices and procedures.
Experience with financial reporting and financial analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in MS Office tools. A high proficiency in MS Excel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize effectively
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
The successful candidate will likely have 5 – 10 years of experience
Preferred:
- Former or current experience working for Bertrandt (internal) within Germany or the USA.
Knowledge of SAP systems is a plus.
A Master’s Degree or MBA is a plus.
Certifications in Project Management, such as PMP or CAPM, and project control, such as PCP or EVP, are useful.
Certifications in data analysis can be advantageous as well, such as CAP or CDA.
