What are the responsibilities and job description for the Upper School History Teacher (One-Year Interim) position at Berwick Academy?
Berwick Academy, a PK-12 coeducational day school located in Southern Maine, seeks a History teacher to join our Upper School Faculty for the 2025-2026 school year in an interim role. While the position is in the History department, the candidate may be asked to teach a course in the English department. The ideal candidates would have experience teaching a variety of topics in history and social studies, including ancient and modern world history. As a member of the Upper School Faculty, candidates can expect to teach four classes, serve as an advisor and supervise co-curricular activities. A qualified candidate will show strong evidence of exceptional teaching and a keen understanding of the developmental needs of high school students. A collaborative teaching approach and instructional leadership skills among peers are also hallmarks of a successful candidate. This position begins in the 2025-26 academic year.
