The HIPAA Privacy Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other relevant privacy regulations.
Duties and responsibilities include.
Develop, implement, and maintain HIPAA privacy policies and procedures.
Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
Investigate and respond to potential privacy breaches including reporting and remediation.
Provide training and education to employees on HIPAA compliance and date privacy best practices.
Serve as the primary point of contact for privacy-related inquires complaints, and regulatory agencies.
Collaborate with IT and Security teams to ensure PHI is protected across all systems.
Maintain records of privacy related activities, including breach investigations and training sessions.
Stay updated on HIPAA regulations and other federal/state privacy laws, ensuring organization compliance.
