BES seeks a part-time, temporary Arizona Education Ambassador to support our recruitment efforts for the BES Fellowship. This role is ideal for a well-connected education professional passionate about expanding leadership opportunities and strengthening schools in Arizona.
Location: Arizona (ideally in the Phoenix metropolitan area)
Travel: Local travel required to events in Phoenix and potentially Tucson
Commitment: Up to 10-15 hours per month (February–June, with potential for extension)

About BES
BES is a national nonprofit organization that identifies and prepares excellent leaders to transform education in their communities. Over more than two decades, BES has prepared leaders to found 200 schools in 50 cities across 20 states and Washington DC, educating 72,000 students – of whom 82 percent qualify for free/reduced lunch, and 94 percent identify as students of color. In all, BES has trained more than 2,700 leaders to found, lead, and grow schools through its leadership development offerings.
About Temporary Roles at BES
Temporary employees help provide additional capacity across BES teams during peak seasons, staff transitions, and special projects. Those selected for our temporary pool are contacted when relevant assignments arise. Assignments vary in length, typically lasting 2 weeks to 4–5 months.
This Arizona Education Ambassador role is a Manager-level temporary position, estimated at up to 10–15 hours per month from February through June, with the possibility of further opportunities beyond this recruitment season.
About the Role
The Arizona Education Ambassador will build connections within the education community to identify and engage potential candidates for the BES Fellowship. They will attend events, cultivate relationships, and elevate awareness of BES's mission to develop the next generation of school leaders in Arizona.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent BES at education-focused networking events, conferences, and community gatherings in Phoenix and Tucson.
- Build relationships with educators, school leaders, and education organizations to generate interest in the BES Fellowship.
- Identify and connect potential Fellowship candidates with BES recruitment staff.
- Share BES Fellowship information through in-person conversations, email follow-ups, and social media engagement.
- Provide insights on Arizona's education landscape to strengthen BES's outreach efforts.
- Track engagement activities and provide updates on recruitment progress.
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is:
- Experienced in education, community engagement, or recruitment (preferred).
- A strong networker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passionate about education leadership and BES's mission.
- Available for evening and weekend events as needed.
- Able to travel locally within metro Phoenix and Tucson (reliable transportation required).
- Well-connected in Arizona's education community (preferred).
Commitment & Compensation
- Hours: Part-time, estimated 10–15 hours per month, with a flexible schedule based on event availability.
