BMA is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the El Paso, Texas location.
Job Summary:
Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) providing technical guidance and information to meet requirements. Works independently with minimal guidance on complex projects and assignments.
Tasks require expert level application of standard engineering methods, procedures, techniques, criteria, and programs. Performs high-level systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of very complex application that require a thorough knowledge of administrative, and technical skills.
Participates in all phases of system development with emphasis on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing and acceptance phases. Applies higher-level business or technical principles and methods to very difficult technical problems to arrive at automated engineering solution. Designs and prepares technical reports and related documentation and makes charts and graphs to record results. Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings as required.
Clearance Requirements
TS/SCI is required upon hire.
Required Skills and Certifications
- Master’s degree in systems engineering.
- Seven (7) or more years of experience in the area of command-and-control test and evaluation, system development and/or developmental/operational testing of Department of Defense (DoD) systems.

Five (5) or more years of additional experience gained within the last ten (10) years in the operational effectiveness evaluation of Army and Joint Service systems, subsystems, and components in one (1) or more of the following system commodity areas:

Active Protection Systems; Air Delivery Systems; Air/Missile Defense Systems; Aircraft Armaments; Aircraft Systems; Automotive Vehicles.

Command, Control, Communications, Computers Systems.
-
Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Systems.
-
Counter-Improvised Explosive Device Systems.
-
Counter-Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems.
-
Direct Fire Systems; Directed Energy Systems.
-
Electronic Warfare/Offensive Cyber Operations Systems; Engineering Equipment.
-
General Support Equipment; Indirect Fire Systems.
-
Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance Systems.
-
Missiles/Rockets; Optical/Electro-Optical Systems.
-
Smoke and Obscurants; and Soldier Systems.

Experience may be in any combination of the following areas:
-
(1) Conduct of developmental test, operational test, and evaluation methods for Army and Joint Service systems. Experience is defined as activities to include test and evaluation planning, test execution, data collection during test, evaluation of test or modeling data, and development of evaluation analysis plans and reports.

(2) Interpretation, application, and integration of Army and Joint Service system acquisition documentation in the development of system acquisition products for test and evaluation. Examples of system acquisition documentation include Department of Defense, Army, and Army Test and Evaluation Command regulations, pamphlets, instructions, and guidance.

(3) Executing Office of the Secretary of Defense methodologies and policies related to assessment of Joint Capability Technology Demonstrations and Advanced Technology Demonstrations.

(4) Application of Army and Joint Service metrics at various stages of equipment development to include the planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing, and acceptance phases.

(5) Test methods, infrastructure, and capability gaps related to system/program testing and processes.

(6) Oral and written communication such as briefings, writing technical papers, etc. Examples include Evaluation Plans, Evaluation Reports, Test Plans (Operational or Developmental), Safety Releases, and Safety Confirmations.

(7) At least one (1) year of experience in software application testing (at least at black box level) and network communication. Black box functional and system level testing is defined as testing techniques in which the software tester does not have access to the source code itself.

(8) Application of system-level metrics at various stages of the acquisition process to include the Material Solution Analysis, Technology Maturation and Risk Reduction, Engineering and Manufacturing Development, and Production and Deployment phases.
