Job Summary
This position is a full-time Exempt (salary) role supporting the Army National Guard Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP). DTT Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) support ARNG unit commanders and staff, from battalion through division, providing doctrinal workshops, over-the-shoulder training, and coaching during individual and collective event support at unit-designated training sites. They assist in developing scenarios, scriptwriting, tactical orders, and other supporting Joint Exercise Learning Center (JELC) products.
Duties:
- Serve as SMEs in military Live, Virtual, Constructive, and Gaming (LVC-G) training methods and procedures, including simulations and stimulations, and other Mission Command Training enablers.
- Lead a team of DTT SMEs in various subject matter areas, excluding WFF, which the Lead represents.
- Act as advisors, trainers, and SMEs for division and below units during planning through execution, including After Action Review (AAR) of collective events.
- Coordinate scenario-based exercise design to support unit commander training objectives.
- Coordinate scripting of master scenario events lists (MSEL), storyboards, or simulation control injects integrated with and supporting training exercises and constructive staff training in live-virtual-constructive environments.
- Be proficient in current Army WFF doctrine and processes, able to identify new and emerging Army and Joint doctrine.
- Replicate higher HQ functions within WFF for battalion through division training audiences.
- Coach, teach, and train units during STAFFEXs to assist commanders in achieving their training objectives.
- Plan and execute constructive exercises in coordination with MCTSP elements for ARNG units, providing commanders and staff opportunities to exercise operations orders developed during collective training events.
- Provide on-site honest and relevant feedback to unit commanders and staff members through informal discussions.
- Prepare Final Exercise Reports (FERs) addressing planning, preparation, and execution of DTT-supported training events.
Requirements:
- Previous senior Army or ARNG leadership experience with a training management background and preferably Combat Training Center (CTC) experience.
- Combat Arms experience with primary staff experience in command and control at battalion or higher.
- Previous battalion or higher commander preferred (or similar).
- At least six years' combined staff experience within a specific WFF or eight years' specialized MCTSP experience in this duty position.
- Recent experience working within the Army National Guard training support system or similar systems.
- Two or more years working with Army Command and Control Information Systems.
- Background of at least twelve years' Military or DoD experience and five years' experience in exercise planning using the JELC process.
- BA/BS, subject immaterial; MA/MS preferred.
- Completion of the Command and General Staff College or equivalent level military schooling preferred.
