Job Title: Summer School Site Leader

Reports to: Director of School Leadership
Salary Schedule: $60.00 per hour
Days/ Year: June 2 - 26, 2025
Supervises: Summer School Teachers
Qualifications (minimum education, licensure, skills, and/or experience):
- Required: Current Alabama Teacher's Certification, Master's degree or Higher with an endorsement in administration, supervision or educational leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Summer School Site Leader for Elementary and Secondary School.
- Collaborate with the Summer School Administrator to develop the summer program following guidelines provided by the Curriculum & Instruction Department.,
- Monitor instructions to ensure teachers provide the content instruction, including the approved curriculum or portions of the lessons throughout the day.
- Ensure teachers provide direct, explicit, and systematic reading instruction and support that improve any identified area of reading deficiency.

- Ensure teachers provide direct, explicit, and comprehensive mathematics curricula for core instruction as provided by the Curriculum & Instruction Department.
- Collect data to ensure teachers consistently implement the evidence-based reading/math instructional practices.
- Attend paid professional learning sponsored by the district before the program starts, and provide orientation to teachers before the first day of the program and ongoing as needed.
- Promote clear expectations, well-defined channels of communication and relationships with students, staff and parents.
- Counsels students regarding behavior and , if necessary, hold conferences with students, parents, and staff.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- This role primarily operates in an indoor, climate-controlled environment, with occasional exposure to moderate temperature variations, The usual methods of performing job functions require light lifting (10-20 pounds), carrying, pushing, and pulling, with frequent engagement in activities such as standing, walking, and sitting. Duties require travel to sites throughout the county. Additional physical requirements include significant fine finger dexterity and occasional stooping and crouching.
