Project Accountant Bessolo Design GroupA Full service Architectural, Engineering, & Interior Design firm located in St. Petersburg, Florida Project Accountant : Bessolo Design Group, Inc., an award winning and highly rated Fast 50 company by Tampa Bay Business Journal, is expanding and seeking a well-rounded and experienced Project Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience within the A / E / C or Interior Design field, be a natural self-starter with a positive attitude, the ability to learn from past experiences, and an eagerness to actively seek new responsibilities and learning opportunities.Job Description : As a Project Accountant, you will be responsible for / cross trained in many aspects of Accounting and Operations including Project Accounting, Contracts, Payroll, A / R Billing and Collections, A / P and Expense Reports, Procurement / POs, as well as other Accounting Duties. You will work independently in this role while frequently collaborating with the CFO, Accounting Manager and Project Managers to review status updates, invoicing, profitability, earnings and costs.The Ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in the following : Project Cost Accounting – Project accounting, including monthly project invoices, manage sub consultants, assist project managers in reviewing monthly invoices and project costs (budget vs. actual), prepare and present project budgets, profitability reports, WIP and backlog, calculate multipliers and annual billing rates. Contract Compliance – Contract creation and management, project setup and project maintenance, ensuring projects meet contract requirements. Payroll – Full cycle payroll (time sheets, payroll processing, reporting / payment of state and federal payroll taxes and 401(k)). Prepare census data for insurance as well as year-end reporting (401(k), W2’s, W3).Accounts Receivable – Receive and post client payments. Manage collections and prepare & file liens when necessary.Accounts Payable – Daily A / P entry, manage POs, vendor setup and payments, W9’s, 1099’s and consultant COI’s. Process employee expense reports and reconcile monthly company credit card charges. Procurement – Work with Designers to enter and order furnishings using Fohlio software, process POs, file monthly sales tax with various states, and maintenance and renewal of resale certificates General Accounting Duties Assist Accounting Manager and CFO, prepare and present month end financials, balance sheet and fixed asset reconciliations, bank reconciliations, cash flow and revenue projections and assist in year-end close. Business insurance renewals and aid in annual employee benefit renewals. Skill, Knowledge, Education and Experience Requirements : A minimum of 3-5 years of experience within the A / E / C or Interior Design field is preferred (but not required).Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (5-10 years’ experience as Project / Sr Accountant / Full-charge Bookkeeper)Strong experience in financial statement, cost, revenue and project performance analysis and general analyticsProficiency in Deltek Ajera (Vision, VantagePoint) or other large ERP platforms (SAP, NetSuite, etc.) as well as advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, AIA Contract Software and QuickBooksAbility to take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completionAbility to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changing prioritiesTeam Player- Willingness to assist with any department functionsExcellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organization skillsWillingness to work extra hours when the workload requires itBe a fast learner and have superior multi-tasking skillsSuperior intuitive abilityMulti-state corporate and professional license management a plus About Us : Bessolo Design Group, based in St. Petersburg, FL, is a 37-year-old architectural, engineering, and interior design firm composed of professionals dedicated to providing quality, creative and technical expertise involved with facilities development for private individuals and institutions.The firm has experience with both public and private sector clients with demonstrated expertise in Healthcare, Senior Living, Multifamily, Retail and Community.
