Job Summary
The Center Administrator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of classes, supporting teachers, and maintaining effective communication with parents. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple administrative tasks while fostering a welcoming learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Class & Teacher Management:
- Create and maintain teacher and student schedules.
- Ensure smooth conduct of classes and address any operational issues.
- Maintain an updated substitute list and arrange coverage when needed.
- Assist teachers with classroom materials and preparation.
Administrative & Communication Duties:
- Monitor and update the online book log based on teacher entries.
- Check and respond to emails from parents and teachers promptly.
- Handle parent inquiries and provide information about programs and student progress.
- Update student enrollment, breaks, or cancellations in the system.
- Provide weekly updates to the Center Director or as needed.
Student & Program Support:
- Assess new students and determine appropriate placement in the program.
- Ensure core and special programs run smoothly and efficiently.
- Grade completed books and tests; update the portal with test results.
- Prepare classrooms and materials during non-class hours.
Center Maintenance & Events:
- Keep the center clean, organized, and ready for classes.
- Plan and coordinate one event per month (e.g., Valentine's Day, Halloween, Pajama Day, Pizza Party)
Work Schedule:
- 10 hours per week during class hours (managing center operations).
- 10 hours per week during non-class hours (administrative tasks, preparation).
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Experience in an administrative or educational setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers and managing online portals.
