Are you an experienced mechanic with a penchant for customer service? Then we want you to join our dealership team as an Automotive Service Advisor. In this position, you are the liaison between our clients and our automotive services department. When a customer comes in to get their car serviced, you are the first person they talk to, so strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor are crucial. Your job is to listen to their concerns about their vehicle, determine what services they need, and work with our mechanics to create a service plan and price estimate. You also need to have a thorough understanding of automotive maintenance and auto repair, including how to research warranty coverage. A vocational certificate in a relevant field or ASE certification is a plus.
Automotive Service Advisor Duties and Responsibilities
- Answer any questions customers have about our services
- Perform the initial inspection to aide the mechanics
- Provide cost estimates and lists of necessary services
- Work with customers to prioritize repairs
- Keep the customers updated on the status of their vehicles
- Follow up with customers on upcoming maintenance
- Document all services that were approved or declined
Automotive Service Advisor Requirements and Qualifications
- Vocational certificate in auto repair or a similar field or ASE certification (preferred)
- Thorough mechanical knowledge
- Experience with auto repair and maintenance
- Strong sales and customer service skills
- Basic computer proficiency

Salary : $60,000 - $90,000
