Customer Service/Cashier

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our store, responsible for providing exceptional customer service while efficiently handling transactions. You will engage with customers, assist with their needs, and ensure a pleasant shopping experience. Your ability to communicate effectively and manage cash transactions will be vital to your success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide assistance throughout their shopping experience.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately for processing transactions.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision and care.
• Maintain knowledge of products and promotions to effectively upsell and sell items to customers.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.
• Perform basic math calculations for cash handling and retail math tasks.
• Assist in supervising junior staff members when necessary, ensuring they adhere to company policies.
• Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.

Experience

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on phone etiquette when handling customer calls.
• Basic math skills are essential for cash handling and transaction accuracy.
• Familiarity with POS systems is a plus; training will be provided as needed.
• Experience in sales or upselling techniques is advantageous but not mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
