What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant/Medical Receptionist - Bilingual position at Best Care Community and Family Health Center?
Seeking experienced medical assistants to assist with triage, phlebotomy, minor clinical procedured and documentation, and be cross-trained to rotate into front desk duties including processing medical documents/orders, scheduling, insurance verification, and check-in.
*Bilingual (Spanish) MA needed. Must be proficient/fluent in English as well.
*MA certification and phlebotomy certification experience needed.*
*Must have reliable transportation and attend work consistently and on time. Schedule will be posted weekly or monthly in advance.*
We value diligent, reliable, and professional employees with medical office experience to take on various medical assisting tasks in the front and back office. Attention to detail in data entry is very important, as is the ability to communicate effectively with patients and our team of staff.
We are an adaptive and professional family medicine office with a friendly and welcoming staff which offers multiple services at our office including hormone replacement therapy, medical marijuana certification and primary care services including home visits and telemedicine services. They would be cross trained into front and back office duties as needed. Experience with insurance verification and front desk check-in is preferred.
Medical Assistants are expected to:
- Triage and prepare patients ready for the provider, collecting all the necessary information from the patient.
- Be proficient in efficient typing, computer use, and microsoft word for accurate medical data entry.
- Become proficient in insurance verification and all other front-desk check-in activities.
- Answer phones and faxes, and take and return messages. Delegate tasks and messages to other office staff in an organized fashion.
- Review and prepare charts for appointments the following days/weeks.
- Prioritize patient needs and make sure they are completely ready prior to appts with any necessary documentation done prior.
- Maintain a clean environment; sterilization, cleaning, organization, re-stocking of all areas of the office.
- Call patients to schedule appointments and confirm appointments the week prior to the week of the actual appointment time.
- Phlebotomy skill: Collect blood samples and other types of labs efficiently and correctly to be sent to Quest for processing. Must be experienced in phlebotomy and ready to begin drawing blood in office.
- Perform EKG and other simple in-office diagnostic procedures.
- Administer medications either oral or injectable in-office.
