We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our plumbing, heating, and air company. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for managing all operational aspects, ensuring high-quality service delivery, optimizing business processes, and driving profitability. You will work closely with the executive team to implement strategic initiatives, manage budgets, improve customer satisfaction, and lead a team of skilled professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the plumbing, heating, and air service departments to ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality service delivery.
- Manage and optimize workflow, scheduling, and customer service operations to meet business goals and customer expectations.
- Financial Oversight:
- Develop and manage annual budgets for each department, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
- Monitor revenue and expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and make recommendations to improve profitability.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for all departments and take corrective action when necessary to meet financial objectives.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, including department managers, technicians, and support staff.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and support employee development programs to foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Customer Service and Satisfaction:
- Ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction by overseeing service quality, responding to customer inquiries, and addressing any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
- Implement customer feedback programs to measure and improve service quality, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop strategies to enhance customer retention and attract new customers.
- Business Development and Growth:
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop long-term growth strategies for the company, including marketing, sales, and service expansion opportunities.
- Develop and execute initiatives to increase revenue, market share, and customer base in the plumbing, heating, and air sectors.
- Identify new business opportunities, such as partnerships, upselling, or service diversification, to drive company growth.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the executive team to develop and execute company-wide strategies, goals, and initiatives.
- Provide regular reports to the President/Owner regarding operational performance, financial results, and team dynamics.
- Maintain open and transparent communication with all departments to ensure alignment with business goals and customer expectations.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field (preferred).
- Additional certifications in the plumbing, heating, or HVAC industries are a plus.
- Experience:
- At least 5-7 years of management experience, preferably in the plumbing, heating, and air service industry or a similar service-oriented business.
- Proven track record of managing and growing a service-based business, with experience in financial management, team leadership, and operations.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, safety standards, and best practices.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.

- Full-time, exempt position.
- Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
- Office-based with occasional visits to field operations and job sites.
