The River in Batesville, AR is looking for prep cooks to join our team. We are located an 50 Riverbank Road. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and hard-working.
The Prep Cook is responsible for providing a supportive role to the kitchen staff in the preparation of means and ingredients. Their duties include organizing and labeling food items, performing tasks such as chipping ingredients and sanitizing their work station during and after service. They work closely with other kitchen staff to complete orders by gathering necessary ingredients and distributing them to different stations throughout the kitchen.
Duties and Responsibilities
*Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list
*Follow recipes and prepare simple dishes
*Sanitize and prepare equipment and workstation for cooking
*Weigh and measure ingredients
*Mix, wash, peel, chop, grind, strain, slice meat and vegetables
*Basic cooking functions such as kneading dough, and preparing sauces
*Label stock and inventory all ingredients
*Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
Skills and Qualification
*Ability to communicate and listen to team members
*Superior dexterity skills to operate cutting tools
*Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
*Dedicated to working as a team towards one goal
*Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
*Experience as a Prep Cook a plus
