What You’ll Be Working On
- Establish long-lasting relationships with clients, patients, and team members
- Perform general practice and patient intake
- Assist the veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures
- Take diagnostic radiographs
- Provide compassionate specialized care
- Take vital signs, draw blood, and gather medical history
- Administer medication and fluid doses as directed by a veterinarian
- Skilled venipuncture
- Intravenous catheter placement
- Properly care for and maintain the operating room, surgical materials, and inventory of medical supplies
- Perform laboratory tests to assist in diagnosis and treatment
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- CVT license in the state of Oregon is highly preferred
- A minimum of one year of technician experience with general practice is required
- Skills in restraining, collecting history, drawing blood, monitoring patients under anesthesia,
and patient recovery are required
- Highly motivated, with a desire to learn and grow
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate and work within a team environment
