What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gerber Operator - 2nd Shift position at Best Home Furnishings?
Summary: The position is primarily responsible for creating and updating all files and paperwork pertaining to the cut pieces of all fabric, leather, and urethane cutting patterns, and denims.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Requires learning & operating the Gerber system
- Ability to Sew or willingness to learn.
- Assists designers with creating new models and keeping current models updated.
- Creates and modifies the individual fabric parts that make up a product & then places them into markers (cutting patterns).
- Communicates with manufacturing on new and existing parts and patterns.
- Maintaining file storage.
Job Requirements:
- Effective problem solving and decision making skills.
- Sewing and/or upholstery experience is an asset.
- Possess computer skills.
- Exceptional verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as dealing with multiple priorities.
- Possess an intuitive attention to detail and strong organization skills.
- Understanding of meeting deadlines and has a sense of urgency in meeting these deadlines.
- Self-motivated, excellent attendance record and willing to help others with projects when asked.
