General Summary:
Assures consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), validating processes; providing documentation; managing staff, and overseeing the quality control team and their functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for Food Safety, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control.
· Exemplifies leadership through all tasks and interactions with others.
· Assists the QA Manager in compliance with SQF / GMP, KPI goals.
· Quality Assurance team leader, with QA Technicians as direct reports.
· Assumes duties of the QA technicians in his / her absence or short staffing.
· Accomplishes quality assurance human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
· Communicates job expectations to team members; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions.
· Enforces established company policies and procedures.
· Achieves quality assurance operational objectives.
· Performs validation functions of quality processes according to programs and schedules.
· Responsible for supervising and leading various initiatives to meet established quality standards and specifications.
· Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits.
· Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
· Assists and leads training sessions for employees within operations.
· Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Biology, Chemistry, OR relevant industry experience to accomplish defined duties and responsibilities.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented. Bilingual a plus
· Proven leadership and training experience skills
· Minimum 2 years experience in a Quality or Food Safety-based role.
· Thermal processing experience or acidified foods training is recommended.
· Experience with HACCP systems and food safety laws and regulations
· Experience with computer-based manufacturing systems
· Able to work well in a team environment to achieve common goals

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
