What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deli Clerk/Cashier position at Best of Europe Deli?
We are a small family-run deli that has been serving our local community since 1999. We take pride in providing our customers with high-quality products and exceptional service. We are currently seeking a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused Deli Clerk to join our team. Please note: starting pay at minimum wage (may be higher based on experience).
* Availability on Sundays, is a must. If you are not available, please do not apply.
Initially, this position will start with 1-2 days a week, but may be increased to 4 days with demonstrated performance.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and take their orders
- Prepare and serve sandwiches, salads, soups, and other deli items
- Operate cash register and handle financial transactions
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Receive and unpack deliveries
- Monitor inventory levels and restock supplies as needed
- Provide excellent customer service
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- In addition to other shifts, must be available to work on Sundays.
- Prior experience in a deli or food service environment Required.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Food handling certification (must be valid/unexpired)
