What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Maintenance Technician position at Best Pump and Flow?
Position Summary: Primarily assists in machine shop repairs and maintenance services to CNC Machines, robotic systems, and other manufacturing equipment. Provides a clean and safe working environment for all personnel by maintaining, functioning, neat and orderly machine shop and ensuring the presence and serviceability of safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, gloves, hearing protection, and eye protection.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs service, troubleshooting and/or repairs to processing equipment and their operating mechanisms.
- Responsible for preventive maintenance and ordering of necessary parts for maintenance and repair of equipment
- Uses a variety of hand tools and equipment such as drill motors, saws, pipe cutter, spray gun, welding machine, burning torch, etc.
- Maintains shop in clean and orderly condition.
- Ability to learn the functions and operations of all machine shop equipment. Provide support for all mechanical and electrical equipment
- Interface daily with Machine Shop Supervisor/Tooling Manager to keep higher-level management personnel informed of all mission-related requirements/progress and to receive directives as needed.
- Relay any decisions which require a higher authority to the appropriate personnel.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Educational and Other Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Vocational training or job related experience preferred but not required
- Must successfully complete and abide by all safety and job tasks training. Some ability to weld and use cutting torch at a rudimentary level.
- 1 Year minimum experience
- Must have own tools
- Travel may be required
- Will require occasional overtime and weekends
- Sensitive to confidential information
- Must work independently and as a member of team
Mental and Physical Requirements:
- Able to read, speak and write English.
- Work rotating shifts and weekends with potential overtime, call-ins, and work on holidays.
- Ability to use sophisticated computer software programs to achieve job functions.
- Sitting – at desk or computer station, standing, walking, speaking, hearing – frequent
- Bending/Stooping, twisting, lifting – occasional
- Gripping, reaching, writing, fingering (data entry), handling (paper, files, etc) – frequent
- Able to work in fast past environment under potentially demanding and stressful conditions.
- Fine Motor Skills - typing, 10-key, ability to write for extended periods of time
- Communication - phone communication, communication with personnel and vendors
- Seeing - able to see the computer screen
- Climbing - able to go up and down stairs
- Position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week unless otherwise directed by supervisor.
