What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Best Pump and Flow?
Position Summary: Responsible for efficient and effective functioning of the accounting operations of the organization. This oversight includes day-to-day accounting functions, financial systems, external financial reporting, and tax functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
- Primary accounting owner of the SAP general ledger and key stakeholder in other financially significant SAP modules.
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Operations and other cross functional teams related to acquisitions/divestitures, unique business transactions, new business offerings, etc.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
- Lead the external financial reporting process under US GAAP, IFRS, and SEC standards.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal tax requirements.
- Coordinate all external audit and review activities.
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Supervise, develop and retain professional accounting staff.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Educational and Other Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required
- CPA required
- Minimum 10 years’ experience
- Public accounting experience required, Big 4 strongly preferred
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
- Up to 20% travel (domestic and international)
- Sensitive to confidential information
- Must work independently and as a member of team
