What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weekend Breakfast Attendant position at Best Western Concord Inn & Suites?
Position: Breakfast Associate
Part Time: Two to three days per week, weekends required.
Shifts: 6:00 am to 12:00 pm, exact times may vary. 5am start time may be required for the occasional holiday or special event.
Reports To: Front Desk, AGM, GM
Position Summary: To provide appetizing and appealing complimentary breakfast items to guests and maintain food safety in accordance with property standards.
Essential Functions: The following list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary.
- Begin each morning by ensuring all appliances are cleaned, plugged in, turned on and working properly. Prepare coffee and other food items per the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Fully stock all associated supplies. Replenish as necessary.
- Fully stock all food items such as muffins, bagels, cereals, fruit etc.. Do not overstock, but replenish as necessary.
- Obey all sanitation and health codes for food handling and serving, including preparation and temperature. Always wear gloves when handling food items.
- Maintain buffet in a clean, neat condition. Wipe down tables and clean up spills as soon as they occur. Mop floors.
- Empty trash containers when they are ¾ full. At no time is the trash container permitted to be full or overflowing.
- Before shift is over, kitchen and breakfast room must be clean and prepared for the next day. Clean all appliances, coffee machine and juice/milk dispensers.
- Breakfast attendant is responsible for cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping the following areas: kitchen, breakfast area, hotel lobby, business center, fitness room, meeting room, public bathrooms, guest laundry room, hallways, entryways, and pool room.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas (kitchen and guest areas).
- Assist housekeeping with laundry and cleaning.
- Emptying trash receptacles and dispose in dumpster.
- Assist co-workers when your help is needed.
- Provide information to guests about hotel services, facilities and other amenities.
- Listen and respond professionally to guests’ requests or complaints.
- Show up for work in a clean, pressed uniform with name tag. Arrive at work each day with a positive attitude and maintain that attitude throughout the workday.
- If you must have an unscheduled day off, it is your responsibility to find someone to replace yourself on the schedule.
- Check with supervisor for any additional work before punching out.
- Represent your employer in a positive and beneficial way when making contacts within the community.
Specific Job Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to walk/stand a total of 8 hours in a day.
- Must be able to lift 35-50 lbs.
- Must be able to carry 20-35 lbs. up to a distance of 200 ft.
- Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder level, kneel, grasp, push and pull.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Ability
- Communications skills required both written and oral
- General knowledge and experience with computers
- Customer service skills and experience
- Signature Training required if provided
Schedule Requirements
- Must be available to work weekdays, weekends and holidays.
- Must be reliable to work as scheduled with minimal schedule change requests
Qualification Standards:
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Prior similar job responsibilities a plus.
Grooming: Must present a professional image. All employees must lead by example and show up to work with a neat, clean, pressed uniform, name tag and well groomed appearance as per Company's guidelines and brand specific standards.
