Overview
The Back of House Manager is responsible for leading and managing the daily operations of the housekeeping, house person, and laundry departments to ensure the hotel consistently meets or exceeds cleanliness, organization, and guest satisfaction standards. This role involves managing staff, maintaining inventory, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring safety and quality standards compliance.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Oversee the hiring, training, and evaluation of department personnel for housekeeping, laundry, and house person departments.
- Direct and oversee all activities in furnishing daily service to guest rooms, public areas, and restaurant once closed.
- Prepares work schedules for staff based on projected occupancy and makes up morning work assignments to ensure all areas of building are properly maintained in accordance with cleanliness standards. Ensures all necessary positions are properly staffed
- Ensures we are meeting or exceeding key metrics by monitoring work progress in housekeeping, laundry, house person, and Maintenance departments.
- Creates a service environment focused on the guest, with a passion for high standards in cleanliness. Responds promptly to customer needs.
- Inspects premises, guest rooms, linen rooms, and public areas to assure employees maintain the property’s superior standards of housekeeping.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and develops alternative solutions.
- Maintains an inventory of guest and housekeeping supplies and linen, ordering replacement of supplies and equipment as needed.
- Responsible for identifying and coordinating repairs in public areas of the hotel.
- Assist in Housekeeper, Laundry or Inspections as needed
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be able to work weekends.
- Previous experience in the hospitality or hotel industry
- Must be able to work between the hours of 7:30 AM and 6 PM
- Must be able to pass a pre employment drug screening
- Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in word, excel, and online software.
- Physical ability to perform tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing carts exceeding 200 pounds, and standing or moving for extended periods.
- Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.50 - $22.50 per hour
