Job Overview
As part of the Maintenance team at Best Western Plus Austin Airport Hotel, this position performs essential repairs and preventive maintenance as directed by the supervisor to ensure the hotel operates safely, efficiently, and maintains its aesthetic appeal. The Maintenance Technician is also responsible for performing additional tasks as assigned.
Your Day-to-Day
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance of guest rooms, public spaces, and hotel facilities.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general clean-up tasks.
- Inspect and maintain hotel machinery and equipment to ensure they meet operational and safety standards.
- Keep work and storage areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Manage the security of any assigned keys and assist with Lost Prevention measures to ensure the safety of guests and team members.
- Assist with preventive maintenance and complete work orders promptly.
- Respond courteously to all guest requests and inquiries to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.
- Support in checking, making routine repairs, and assisting with major repairs on hotel equipment.
- Perform pool maintenance, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters. Complete maintenance request forms and maintain logs.
- Maintain the hotel’s exterior and curb appeal.
- Assist with setting up, cleaning up, and tearing down banquet and meeting rooms as assigned.
- Respond to emergency situations and promptly notify the appropriate authorities and management.
- Follow all company, safety, and security policies to ensure a safe and hazard-free work environment.
- Ensure the security of inventory, such as tools, supplies, equipment, and hotel assets like furniture and TVs.
- Replenish supplies as needed, ensuring that all equipment is ready for the next shift and minimizing waste.
- Make regular rounds to check for equipment issues, safety hazards, and security concerns, reporting issues immediately.
- Adhere to OSHA standards and company policies for all tasks and procedures.
- Assist with any other tasks or duties as requested by management.
