Position Description:
The Front Desk Manager oversees the daily operations of our front desk team, leading in all operational aspects with a goal of achieving revenue and cost control. Responsible for directing a team to provide superior guest service resulting in top level Medallia guest service scores that are related to the front desk operations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality, possess strong leadership skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
This is a general guideline; additional duties may be assigned:
- Oversee front desk operations including guest check-in/out, reservations, and inquiries.
- Assist in obtaining occupancy, revenue, and RevPar goals on a monthly and annual basis.
- Train, supervise, schedule and mentor front desk staff, promoting high standards of performance and professionalism.
- Control payroll and supply expenses to meet budgeted cost-per-room goals.
- Serve as the primary contact for guest issues related to front office operations.
- Schedule Shuttle Drivers and Weekend Security Guards
- Monitor and maintain front desk inventory, supplies, and equipment, including the Sundry Store inventory, purchases and prices.
- Enforce hotel policies and promote the Best Western Rewards Program, ensuring team training and enrollment goals are met.
- Collaborates with the Group Rooms Revenue Manager to ensure effective management of group blocks, rates, and reservations.
- Promote a front desk culture of pride, attentiveness, knowledge and friendliness resulting in superior guest service for our guests and a pleasant and enjoyable work environment for all
- Hotel associates. Foster an environment of motivation, growth and development for all front desk associates.
- Balance time between managerial duties and front desk shifts.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a hotel setting.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in hotel management software and MS Office Suite.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including night, weekends and holidays as needed.
