Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient service in a fast-paced medical environment. This position requires proficiency in various clinical tasks, including vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and assisting with outpatient procedures. Experience in emergency medicine or dermatology is a plus, especially within a Level I Trauma Center setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in the outpatient setting.
- Perform and document vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians and ensure proper documentation.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and providing comfort.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical area, including sterilization of instruments.
- Support emergency medicine protocols when necessary, ensuring patient safety at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to provide high-quality patient care and improve service delivery.
- Assist in the operating room (OR) as needed during minor surgical procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all health regulations and standards of practice.
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent training is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic life support (BLS) techniques and emergency response protocols.
- Experience working in dermatology or related fields is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of outpatient care processes and patient management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide empathetic patient service.
- Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health records (EHR) systems is beneficial.
- Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate patient records.
