Title - . Power BI / SQL Developer

Location : Richmond, VA, 23219 (Hybrid)

Tenure : 4 Months contract to start with high chances of contract extension

Short Description :

ON SITE REQUIRED : Hybrid 2 days onsite per week (Tues and Wed / each week required - NO Exceptions!)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Assist with overall Power BI / SQL Support (development, performance, process, documentation) related to the Data Quality Enhancement initiative and other development efforts as needed. Activities include :
• Maintain the confidentiality of all business data and adhere to VRS data security policies.
• Meet all deliverables withing the agreed upon timeframe.
• Provide regular status updates and attend various meetings as required.
• Develop, design, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements.
• Create interactive visualizations, reports, dashboards that assist with effective monitoring of Critical Data Elements.
• Advise on best practices in data visualization and report optimization.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate into actionable reports.
• Develop, optimize and maintain SQL queries and stored procedures for data retrieval and manipulation.
• Develop DAX queries to enhance the performance and functionality of reports.
• Develop reports to support KPIs and other performance indicators.
• Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI and SQL tools.
• Review existing SQL Queries, Execution Plans, Partitions, and Index(s) to determine performance enhancements for long running queries.
• Provide alternative options to existing data manipulation techniques. Examples would be converting Excel manipulation activities into solutions that reduce process / cycle time of data preparation.
• Special projects at the direction of the Chief Operating Officer or Data Officer.
