Responsibilities
- Clinical Expertise: Provide expert consultation and guidance to nurses and other healthcare providers in the CVICU.
- Education & Mentorship: Develop and implement educational programs for nursing staff, ensuring competency and adherence to best practices in cardiovascular care.
- Research & Evidence-Based Practice: Lead research initiatives and translate evidence-based findings into practice to improve patient care in the CVICU.
- Quality Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement in patient care processes and outcomes, and lead initiatives to implement change in the CVICU.
- System Improvement: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement strategies to enhance the overall quality of care in the CVICU.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
- Master's degree in a clinical field of nursing or a clinical field related to nursing (e.g., psychology, public health, social work, education, health sciences, behavioral sciences, nutrition, bioethics) from a nationally accredited master's/post-master's nursing academic program.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the area of clinical specialty (CVICU or critical care).
- Active Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Certificate in California.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in California.
- Current BLS certification.
- Previous experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
- ACLS or PALS Certification.
