Job Title:
Mechanical & Cable Assembler
Reports to:
3rd H/W Manager
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
- Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
- Utilize hand held tools such as a hand held screw and drill gun
- Maintain inventory of product in work stations
- Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
- Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Read and understand drawings
- Solder wire to solder cup connectors
- Install hardware as required by drawing.
- Use and understand hand crimping tools
- Crimping of ferrules, lugs, pins and other contacts
- Cable testing using cable scan tester
- Familiar with basic hand tools, wire strippers, cutters,
pliers, hand crimpers, scissors, soldering iron, heat gun Label assemblies in accordance with drawing specifications JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Speak and read English
- Ability to use basic ruler and understand measurements
- Previous cable assembly experience desired
- Good soldering skills
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Able to read schematics, blue prints and bills of materials
- High School degree or work equivalent
RELATED EXPERIENCE:
- 1-2 years mechanical assembly experience may be required
- Basic reading skills. Must be able to understand and follow instructions
- Basic computer navigation and utilization skills
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea
- High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
- Specific technical or vocational training or certification may be required; may be require to pass ruler test
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Regularly lift 30-50 pounds
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks: to sit, walk, stand, hold, bend, see and talk.
- Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
MENTAL EFFORT:
Good communication skill
Requires basic reading and writing skills and occasional judgment and decision making effort.
EQUIPMENT:
Requires various types of hand tools.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Requires frequent interaction with all levels of employees. Frequently works around electrical and mechanical equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.40 - $18.00 per hour
