Job Title : Certified DB2 Administrator (z / OS and LUW)

Job Description : As Certified DB2 Administrator (z / OS and LUW) / Senior Database Administrator, will provide recommendations on using the latest DB2 features for improving application performance, as well as identify traditional methods of maintenance activities and convert them to modern maintenance, further reducing CPU, storage and high performance to applications. Participate in the technical design process as it relates to database implementations, review technical documents, and communicate any risks or issues using the appropriate escalation procedures. Provide direction for standards and procedures for monitoring, capacity planning, tuning, maintenance, performance optimization, backups, and recovery ensuring infrastructure will meet capacity requirements to deliver projects on time. Plan, install, configure, maintain, and monitor database software and other associated software tools. Collaborate with the production application support team to keep all online and batch applications from breaking, keeping down time to a minimum. Perform DB2 changes as part of new releases into Development, UAT, Stage, Pre Production, and Production regions through BMC Remedy ticketing system. Provide level 2 support for production tickets and support user queries in UAT, Pre-Production, and Production environments through BMC Remedy ticketing system. Support the development, system testing, end user, and the production support team in resolving and providing solutions to DB2 related issues utilizing DB2 specific debugging tools including DB2PD, DB2TOP, DB2DIAG, and other various IBM debug tools to provide long term fixes. Provide new features of DB2 to the application development team, test and implement any new features with respect to the database. Produce, deliver, and maintain appropriate documentation for UDB DB2 database in accordance document control standards and procedures. Up to 60% telecommuting permitted.
Education Requirement : Bachelor's degree in CS, IT or related
Experience Requirement : 7 years of experience as a database administrator, DB2 database administrator, software developer or related
Special Skills : Must have work experience with each of the following : 1) DB2 LUW HADR; 2) DB2 Performance and Log Analysis; 3) DB2 on Pure Scale; 4) DB2 Mainframe and Application DBA; and 5) DB2 Mainframe and System DBA. Up to 60% telecommuting permitted.
Salary Range : $118,664 - $140,000
