Position: Azure Cloud Architect
Location: Minneapolis, MN - Hybrid
Duration: 12 Months contract (with potential extensions)

Key Responsibilities
Cloud Strategy and Design
Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to develop cloud-based solutions that meet the State's requirements.
Architect secure and scalable cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Oracle Cloud
Infrastructure.
Provide governance and oversight of cloud services.
Project Leadership
Lead complex projects, create project plans, establish priorities, and allocate resources.
Apply research and analytical skills to evaluate new technologies and implement innovative solutions.
Cloud Migration
Develop and execute migration plans for workloads, applications, and databases.
Design processes and measurement metrics to ensure smooth transitions.
Policy Development and Documentation
Create technical documentation, policies, and procedures using tools like Microsoft Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Present technical concepts and clear reports to executive management and leadership teams.
Knowledge Transfer and Support
Provide hands-on guidance to technical teams.
Deliver knowledge transfer sessions to ensure operational continuity.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Cloud Architect Experience:
Minimum of 5 years as a Cloud Architect.
Participation in at least two engagements with different entities in a similar role.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of cloud shared responsibility models, secure system design principles, and compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Expertise in cloud monitoring and alerting solutions (e.g., Azure Monitor, SCOM).
Scripting experience with Python and/or PowerShell.
Knowledge of DevOps pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Azure Bicep, or AWS CloudFormation.
Familiarity with Agile project management tools like Azure DevOps or Jira.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
Effective customer service and troubleshooting abilities.
Desired Skills
Experience with enterprise cloud migration for large organizations.
Knowledge of infrastructure configuration tools such as Azure Automation or SCCM Desired State Configuration.
Demonstrated ability to design complex, secure, and scalable cloud solutions.
Familiarity with Azure IaaS and PaaS services and governance best practices.
