Job Title : Quality Control Technician

SUMMARY :
Tests and inspects products, raw materials and equipment at various stages of the production process. Compiles and evaluates statistical data reliably to maintain quality. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Completes product raw materials, finished goods and equipment testing according to established SOPs
- Follows cGMP and other quality standards in accordance with laboratory documentation
- Evaluates batch results and make recommendations for improvements as needed
- Reports non-routine results to research chemist or laboratory manager
- Documents accurate results on manufacturing databases
- Sets up and maintains laboratory equipment according to procedure
- Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability
- Prepare reports as needed or requested by laboratory manager
- Participates in root cause investigations of products
- Conducts process improvements and special projects pertaining to QC or QA as requested by supervisor.
- Wears PPE and follows safety protocol
- Must maintain a clean and safe environment
- Must be able to communicate with Betco sales people and managers when necessary.
- Capable of performing limited R&D projects with supervision.
- Performs wet chemistry sample preparation and testing including but not limited to titrations, pH determinations, foam testing, solids determinations and refractometer readings.
- Learns the use of specialized equipment necessary to perform testing including but not limited to Viscometer, FTIR, GC, HPLC, Flash Point tester and centrifuge
- Learns specialized techniques in order to perform testing including but not limited to floor finish application, glass cleaner evaluation, and sample preparation
- Be able to take samples from manufacturing tanks, raw material containers and storage tanks
