Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor PACU staff to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
- Coordinate daily activities and utilize effective communication and leadership skills to achieve goals.
- Collaborate with anesthesia floor leaders, nursing supervisors, and OR clinical leaders to improve workflow and patient throughput.
- Assist with key performance indicators, analyze staffing requirements, and assign personnel as needed.
- Resolve conflicts and refer complex issues to surgical services leadership teams as necessary.
- Serve as a resource person for surgical services issues and follow through with process improvements.
- Communicate effectively with physician staff regarding patient care concerns.
- Manage ANSOS scheduling and staffing, ensuring adequate coverage and communicating concerns to management.
- Participate in oversight of nursing orientation, hiring, and onboarding of new OR nursing personnel.
- Initiate and lead daily board huddles, assess weekly schedules, and provide support for competency and licensure monitoring.
- Work collaboratively with Surgical Services educators to identify educational needs and develop training programs.
- Participate in goal development and reviews of nursing practices, standards, policies, and procedures.
Performs all duties in accordance with safety and other laws, rules, and regulations set forth by appropriate regulatory and government agencies and in accordance with established department and hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum Education: BSN required
- Work Experience: Minimum of three years experience in the recovery room, one year of supervisory experience preferred
- Experience using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
