The Storage Engineer is crucial in ensuring data integrity, availability, and security across the enterprise and will be an experienced Backup/Storage Engineer with 3-5 years of hands-on experience to join our IT team.The ideal candidate will be responsible for the implementation, management, and maintenance of our organization's backup and storage systems.
Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities:
Support and Maintenance:
Assist in managing and maintaining backup systems, including scheduling, monitoring, and verifying backups.
Support the maintenance of storage infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
Perform regular testing of backup and recovery processes to ensure data can be restored effectively.
Troubleshooting and Support:
Provide basic troubleshooting for backup and storage-related issues.
Assist senior engineers in resolving incidents and ensuring service continuity.
Document and escalate complex issues to senior team members.
Implementation and Configuration:
Assist in configuring and deploying backup and storage systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
Participate in the implementation of new backup and storage solutions.
Security and Compliance:
Help implement data security measures, including encryption and access controls.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to data storage and protection.
Maintain accurate documentation for backup and storage procedures and configurations.
Optimization and Reporting:
Monitor storage usage and performance, reporting any anomalies to senior engineers.
Assist in generating and reviewing reports on backup and storage system performance and capacity.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, IT, or relevant field. required
2. 3-5 years related work experience required.
3. Hands-on experience with Commvault
4. Hands-on experience with related storage technology (Brocade SAN, Dell Unity/PowerStore/PowerMax (at least one of these).
Preferred Qualification
Familiarity with cloud and cloud storage is a plus but not require
