Job Purpose
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for ensuring financial records are accurate and complete. This role is responsible for processing and reconciling financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with monthly and year-end close procedures. The Accounting Specialist ensures compliance with internal controls, policies, and applicable regulations while providing timely and accurate financial information to support hospital operations. |
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Monitor daily EFT activity across bank accounts, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded with supporting documentation. |

Prepare and enter journal entries into the accounting system, applying sound judgment to ensure accurate account coding. Record all daily deposits. |

Reconcile bank accounts, credit card activity, and various general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records by required deadlines. Book treasury activities throughout the month. |

Manage Property Funds – Process Invoices and issue checks as approved. |
5% |
Assist with various accounting processes, provide support with audits and tax preparations. |

Qualifications
Education: |
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and substantial accounting experience in a healthcare or related industry may be considered in lieu of a degree |
Experience: |
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices required. A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience is preferred, ideally in a healthcare setting. Experience with Meditech systems preferred |
