As the Executive Branch Director, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing the performance optimization and future success of your assigned branch(es) by providing leadership and direction. This individual’s oversight will ensure the delivery of quality services that align with the strategic direction of Bethany, while also ensuring sound financial performance and operational excellence.

This position is expected to function effectively with little supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the executive branch director to assigned branch within Bethany and ensure full alignment with agency directions, policies, and values;
  • Provide overall leadership, direction and support to direct reports to optimize operations, and maximize staff engagement levels;
  • Ensure the appropriate training and development initiatives are in place to drive staff competency while meeting licensing and state requirements, regulations, and standards;
  • Oversee the annual budget planning processes to include tracking performance, and creating corrective action plans to ensure financial targets are met;
  • Create and implement a clearly defined operational plan that will achieve the branch’s service and financial objectives;
  • Develop and sustain collaborative, strategic relationships with local Board of Directors to ensure proper structure, enforcement of bylaws, and healthy partnerships with Branch Directors;
  • Partners with the Donor Engagement team to generate donations and on-going financial support through fundraising efforts;
  • Serve as a contributing member of extended SET, while also traveling to the National Office or other locations to attend scheduled meetings at least twice a year and by video-conference for other scheduled meetings;
  • Ensure the branch functions in compliance with their respective state licensing standards and regulations;
  • Support and introduce enhancements to the branch office and subsidiary boards, while serving as a consultant to encourage diversification and expansion of services provided;
  • Stay abreast of industry child welfare issues, legislation trends and practices through systematic review of professional literature and networking with state service units and other private organizations;
  • Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s level degree in Social Work, Human Services, or equivalent field of study from an accredited college;
  • Active professional licensure for the respective region (i.e. LCSW - C, LISW, LMSW), required if applicable based on licensing;
  • At least seven (7) years of experience overseeing child and family welfare programs with demonstrated leadership, management, and budget development experience;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated clinical, therapeutic, and crisis intervention skills;
  • Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality;
  • Demonstrated understanding of and a strong commitment to Bethany’s values and unique identity;
  • Demonstrated commitment to high professional, ethical standards, with a high level of personal motivation, integrity and initiative;
  • Demonstrated track record of success in reaching financial goals through solid revenue and expense planning, program administration, and fund-development;
  • Proven ability to create and execute strategic and operational plans, programs, policies/procedures in accordance with state requirements and community needs;
  • Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
  • Must be 21 years old with a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany. Must also pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage;
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
  • Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement and Commitment to Unity.
