Assistant Professor of Art – Tenure Track
POSITION: The Fine Arts Division of Bethany College invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Art to begin Fall 2025. Ideal candidates will have experience in teaching digital arts along with traditional studio art practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS: The position includes a 24-credit annual teaching load. Successful applicants will contribute to both the digital media program and the studio art program. Applicants with experience in 3D modeling primarily in Maya, VR designing applications, Z-brush, and ability to contribute to our video game design degree are especially desired.
Additional responsibilities include contributing to the continuous collection of materials for curriculum assessment and providing academic advising to students. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to student recruitment efforts, which may include actively participating in recruitment events and building relationships with local high schools and community organizations. The successful candidate will also engage with the local arts community and foster connections that support the program and the college.

QUALIFICATIONS: MA, MS, or MFA in Art and/or Digital Arts Practice. In-progress MA or MFA will be considered. Industry experience is a plus. Demonstrated excellence in teaching is essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across disciplines.
SALARY: Contingent upon experience.
DIVISION: The Art program within the Fine Arts Division at Bethany College currently offers the B.A. in six majors: 3D Computer Animation, Pre-Professional Art Therapy, Studio Art, Studio Art with a Graphic Design Focus, Video Game Design, and Visual Art Administration. In addition, it supports the Secondary Education in Art major.
