Bethany Community School is seeking a reliable and skilled Part-Time Facilities Technician to support the maintenance and operational needs of our school campus. This role is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment for students, staff, and visitors. The Facilities Technician will assist with routine maintenance, minor repairs, and general facility upkeep.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
- Conduct inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance issues.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for school events and activities.
- Maintain cleanliness in common areas, including hallways, restrooms, and outdoor spaces.
- Monitor and respond to work requests in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.
- Assist with weather related removal, landscaping, and general grounds maintenance as needed.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or services.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the school’s operations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance, custodial work, or a related field preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical labor.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Must pass a background check in accordance with school policies.
Hours
- 24 hours per week
- Shifts on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
