School-Based, Mental Health Therapist - With sign on bonus   

Bethany for Children & Families in Davenport, Iowa is currently looking for several full-time, school-based therapists to join our Behavioral Health team starting with the upcoming 2023-2024 school year.  School-based Mental Health Therapists work within their assigned primary or secondary schools and enjoy the flexibility associated with a school-year calendar! Work schedule is 9.5 months a year, with a 9.5-month salary paid out over 12 months.  We offer a competitive benefits package with the ability to earn incentive bonus. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and professional development opportunities are offered at no cost to the employee!  

Bethany is hiring several positions within the following schools in the Quad Cities and surrounding areas. Positions will serve clients at Neil Armstrong in Bettendorf, North Scott Junior High School, and schools within the DeWitt Central School district. 

$1,500 Sign-on Bonus for Independently Licensed Clinicians (LISW or LMHC)
$1,000 Sign-on Bonus initially Licensed Clinicians (LMSW or tLMHC)

ADDITIONAL - Retention bonus available after 90 days

Salary Range: $42,500.00 to $60,000.00 (9.5-month work schedule paid out over 12 months)


School-Based, Mental Health Therapist Position Benefits:

School-Based, Mental Health Therapist Performance Objectives:

  • Provide clinical therapy for a specific client caseload referred from schools, medical providers, the Iowa Department of Human Services, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, and other community referral sources.
  • Evaluate and assess the needs of clients referred for services.
  • Utilize clinical interventions supported by evidence-based practices.
  • Coordinate services through collaborative efforts that involve families, schools, case managers, hospitals, community resources, medical and non-medical providers, vocational, social, and support services.
  • Meet regularly with the assigned clinical supervisor for oversight, direction, and clinical review of current caseload.
  • Maintain clinical records and all required data and reports as dictated by legal and regulatory requirements and file all necessary reports in a timely manner.

School-Based, Mental Health Therapist Position Requirements:

Therapists II and III will:

  1. Have knowledge of Medicaid regulations, Council on Accreditation standards, and state regulations and requirements related to the practice of therapy.
  2. Be able to efficiently evaluate and assess clients’ functioning, develop, and formulate an effective treatment plan for each client based on the diagnostic evaluation.
  3. Work within a multi-disciplinary team framework, contributing to and supporting team decisions, processes, procedures, and policies as established.
  4. Have transportation to perform job requirements, including a valid driver’s license and acceptable insurance coverage.
  5. Fulfill all of the regulatory requirements for employees of Child Welfare Agencies as prescribed in Illinois Administrative Rules and Procedure, including successful completion of the criminal background investigation; clearance from the Illinois CANTS, Health Care Registry, Iowa Registry, Office of Inspector General, and certification as a driver of children by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
  6. Maintain a flexible schedule in response to program needs or caseload assignments.
  7. Effectively communicate orally and in writing.
  8. Be able to physically attend to children who are experiencing difficulties.

 Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling and be eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa. Supervision toward independent licensure may be provided at no expense to the licensee.

Qualifications specific to Therapist II include:

  • Have a Master’s Degree in a mental health field including, but not limited to, psychology, counseling and guidance, psychiatric nursing, or social work.
  • Hold a current, unrestricted initial license (LMHC, LMSW) in the state in which he/she practices (Iowa or Illinois).
  • Meet with clinical supervisor weekly.

 

Qualifications specific to Therapist III include:

  • Have a Master’s Degree in a mental health field including, but not limited to, psychology, counseling and guidance, psychiatric nursing, or social work.
  • Hold a current, unrestricted independent license (LISW, LMHC) in the state in which he/she practices (Iowa or Illinois).
  • Have five years of experience as a therapist practitioner.
