SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the housekeeping supervisor, or their agent, performs housekeeping duties for the facility and residents.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain cleanliness and servicing of assigned area, and assures that resident's personal and property rights are maintained.
- Follow written and oral instruction from the supervisor.
- Operates and care for all appropriate equipment to perform housekeeping duties.
- Understands functions of cleaning chemicals and other chemicals.
- Follows all established housekeeping and safety guidelines. Adheres to infection control practices when performing housekeeping procedures.
- Follows all facility policies.
- Maintains effective relationships with employees, residents and the general public.
- Attends staff and in-service meetings as required.
- Performs other related assigned duties.

- Strength: Light – exerting 10 -20 pounds of force occasionally, or 0- 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent; related on the job experience or training.

Knowledge of and ability to use cleaning agents, supplies and equipment; knowledge of and ability to apply current federal and state regulations, policies and procedures; ability to communicate and perform the essential tasks and duties of the department; ability to consider alternatives and make decisions; ability to handle confidential information; ability to work well with people including staff, residents, families and community; ability to follow requests.
