Overview
Bethany K. Huffman, CPA is a smaller, well-established accounting firm that serves clients in northern Shelby County, south Tipton County and the Mid-South area. Our focus is on providing quality, comprehensive, value-added accounting, tax and consulting services to a broad range of small to mid-sized businesses, individuals, industries and non-profit organizations.
Our office is looking for a Tax Admin to be responsible for communication with clients to obtain necessary documents and information and for accurate preparation of tax return folders for upcoming tax appointments. The ideal, successful candidate will have a basic understanding of individual taxation and be open to additional training and have the ability and willingness to work in a team environment.
Duties
- Prepare work papers supporting the tax return (when needed)
- Printing, copying, scanning and faxing and of business documents as requested
- Communicate with clients during the tax preparation process to obtain needed information
- Create and prepare tax return folders for upcoming tax appointments
- Efficiently manage a high-volume workload, providing timely results to our clients
- Ability to adapt to new systems quickly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Other duties as assigned
Seasonal Hours
- 40 hours per week on average
- Reduced summer hours May 1 - Labor Day
- Occasional nights or weekends may be required February - April
Experience
- Office experience in an accounting, bookkeeping or tax preparation office preferred
- Proficiency with ProSeries and QuickBooks preferred
- Teachable mentality
- Positive Attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- College graduate preferred
