Position Summary:
Full Time
Works primarily with Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) residents, designees, and staff. Responsible for assisting residents and/or their designees with identifying Private Pay, Medicare, Medicaid and other third party payor sources. Answer questions regarding insurance or billing and resolve any issues that may arise during the payment process or escalate as appropriate. Responsible for private pay collections efforts including pursuing estate claims in probate.
Job Duties:
- Meet with new and current SNF residents to explain rates and billing policies for services and identify payment sources and insurance policies.
- Maintain excellent relationships with internal customers (peers) and external customers (residents and families, government agencies, insurance companies, etc.).
- Refers resident or designee to the appropriate staff for assistance with Medicare, Medicaid and other third party payor sources.
- Responsible for being primary liaison for all resident Medicare and Managed Care insurance and insurance billing questions.
- Responsible for filing estate claims to the local probate court.
- Follows policies to inform SNF residents of overdue balances and set up payment plans as appropriate.
- Assist with month end statement processing and statement review as necessary.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization and all federal and state laws regarding the privacy of protected health information.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization regarding the use of technology and technology-based information.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience: One or more years’ experience in healthcare services with knowledge of the accounts receivable process and insurances programs preferred. Must have Microsoft Office experience. PCC experience preferred but not required. Must be organized, detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work as a team member.
