Position: SCDC Extended Care Worker
Reports To: SCDC Camp Director
Employment Type: Seasonal, Part-Time (Summer)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Location: Schaumburg Christian School
The SCDC Extended Care Worker plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, structured, and engaging environment for students after the main camp day ends. This position requires energy, patience, and a heart for serving students in a Christ-centered atmosphere. Extended Care Workers supervise students, lead activities, and provide a smooth transition for parents picking up their children. This is a high-energy role that requires initiative, attentiveness, and a commitment to maintaining a positive and organized space.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and Engage – Actively monitor and interact with students, ensuring safety and participation in activities.
- Spiritual Encouragement – Model Christlike character, demonstrating patience, kindness, and leadership.
- Structured Activities – Lead games, crafts, or quiet time as needed to keep students engaged and occupied.
- Safe Dismissal – Ensure an organized pickup process by verifying parent/guardian authorizations and maintaining order.
- Conflict Resolution – Address minor behavioral issues with wisdom and biblical principles.
- Team Collaboration – Work closely with fellow leaders and camp staff to provide seamless care.
- General Assistance – Help with light cleanup, organizing materials, and ensuring the space is left in good condition.

Additional Requirements
- Commitment to the Full Summer Schedule (June 2—August 8, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM).
- Experience working with children in a school, camp, or church setting is a plus.
- Attendance at training event (Friday, May 30th. This will include CPR/AED training)
- In addition to the in-person training event, you will also be required to complete an online training course and mandated reporter training.
